Name and Gender Marker Change Day of Celebration
SAN JOSÉ, California (August 27, 2024) : The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara is proud to announce its inaugural Name and Gender Marker Change Day of Celebration on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Old Courthouse, located at 161 N. 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95113.
This event is a first-of-its-kind celebration designed to honor individuals who have obtained or plan to file for a name and/or gender marker change in Santa Clara County. The Superior Court recognizes the significant personal and legal milestones these changes represent and is committed to supporting the community through this inclusive and empowering event.
Participants will be able to:
- Receive a Ceremonial Certificate: Attendees who have completed a name and/or gender marker change can receive a ceremonial certificate signed by a judge, commemorating this significant moment.
- Access Vital Resources: Learn how to use court orders to update identity documents and connect with community organizations offering guidance and support.
- Enjoy Light Refreshments: Celebrate in a welcoming environment with refreshments provided.

Presiding Judge, Hon. This celebration is being held in collaboration with several community organizations, including the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, The Q Corner, The LGBTQ Youth Space, LGBTQ Wellness, and the Office of LGBTQ Affairs.
