You will get a courtesy notice 45 – 60 days after you receive your citation (ticket). Sometimes it can take longer than this. If you do not get a Courtesy Notice by the date written at the bottom of your citation, please check traffic records on the Court’s Case Info website to see if your citation has been entered into the Court’s computer system. If you don’t see your citation or don’t receive a Courtesy Notice within 90 days contact the Court during normal business hours to obtain information about your citation.

You can make traffic payments online at our e-payment website . (Note: You can pay most fines/bails by credit/debit card and will be assessed a 5% fee.)

Electronic payments AND courthouse drop boxes allow you to make traffic payments even when Traffic Court is closed, including holidays.
New Pay by Phone Option:Pay by Phone Option: To make a payment using a credit/debit card, please call 408-878-0098. This option is available after court business hours, on weekends, and Court observed holidays during the following hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 am – 9:00 pm PST and Sat-Sun 6:00 am – 3:00 pm PST. Hablamos Español. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted and a 5% service charge will be added to the fine/fee amount.
Traffic Violations/Infractions
Traffic Court deals with violations of traffic laws and other minor offenses. These violations are considered “infractions” and include, for example, things like speeding, automobile equipment needing repair, and expired licenses.
Traffic infractions are enforced by the issuance of traffic tickets (“citations”) by law enforcement. Punishment for such infractions include payment of fines and do not carry any potential jail or prison time.

Traffic Misdemeanors and Felonies
Other, more serious automobile related matters, such as reckless driving, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), and vehicular manslaughter, are either misdemeanors or felonies, carry potential jail or prison time as possible punishment, and are addressed in the Criminal section of the website.
